We have added a new outdoor off-road track: circuit MBM - MONTPELLIER – France.
This exciting new track was created in close collaboration with the Montpellier club. It’s a typical French style track carved out in the terrain, and VRI’s graphics and 3D artist Tony West has delivered yet another masterpiece by capturing the right atmosphere and character of this track spot on!

FREE OPENING EVENTS FOR BUGGY AND SC TRUCKS

The release of the Montpellier track coincides with the 2015 Grand Prix de Montpellier, the European season opener which will attract a host of top level off-road racers from Europe and beyond. For those who can’t make it to Montpellier (and let’s face it, just a lucky 120 racers or so will…) they can now get the Montpellier track in VRC Pro and compete in the “Virtual GP de Montpellier” starting Friday February 13th. There will be open and Spec class events for 1:8 nitro buggies and 1:10 electric short course trucks. The new MONTPELLIER track will be FREE until Monday 16th, so racers from around the world can participate in these events for absolutely FREE!

EVENTS:
1:8 nitro buggy
1:8 nitro buggy spec
1:10 short course trucks
1:10 short course trucks 13.5T

VIRTUAL vs REAL
To get a first taste of the new MONTPELLIER track check out the VIRTUAL vs REAL video, showing French Team Associated ace Yannick Aigon driving the prototype Associated RC8 and Nicolas Loriot from Team VRC Pro.

RE-ADJUSTING CAMBER RANGES FOR NITRO BUGGIES

21.01.2015 129 comments

Some members have reported that buggy setups allow for some very unrealistic settings, like 16 degrees negative camber. We have looked into the camber adjustment issue and have drawn the following conclusions.

Camber is the result of the length of the camber link and the inner and outer camber link pivot points. These points affect the roll centers of the car. However, the tire model was not designed and never tested with such large and totally unrealistic camber angles.

As we have 2 rows of pivot points the adjustability range of the camber link has to be quite big in order to achieve normal camber values with all positions. Marcin used the most inner and most outer positions combined with the shortest possible camber link setting resulting in 16 degrees negative camber. And apparently this works very well for him in combination with other settings.

The use of such unrealistic camber angles was not foreseen and needs to be corrected. The only way to achieve this is to remove the outer positions B2 a... read more
